Noughts and Crosses / Tic-Tac-Toe
Noughts and Crosses uses a 3 × 3 board with gravity off. Select any empty square and try to connect three of your pieces. This is the familiar game of Noughts and Crosses, also called Tic-Tac-Toe. Watch for a chance to complete your own line while blocking your opponent.
How to play Noughts and Crosses
Take turns placing pieces. White moves first. Win by connecting the required number of your pieces in an unbroken horizontal, vertical or diagonal line. If the board fills without a winning line, the game is a draw.
With gravity off, tap or click the empty square where you want to play. A winning line can run across a row, down a column or along either diagonal.
Plan your next move
Check whether you can complete a line of three. If not, look for an opponent's line that needs blocking. The centre and corners help you build more than one possible winning line. Two careful players can reach a draw.
Choose a person or an AI
Choose your opponent above the board, then press Start Game. You can play against an AI or take turns with another person on the same device. When you have trained your AI to higher levels, you can choose from the AI levels you have unlocked.
Log in and select Noughts and Crosses from your unlocked game formats. If it is not available yet, select Configure A Game (100 Credits) and choose Noughts and Crosses.
Watch two AIs play Tic-Tac-Toe
Choose an AI for both players and watch a single game, or use AI Training for a series of games. The Noughts and Crosses training sequence also includes a playful Nobody wins tribute to WarGames.
